What is Shaniko Wool? It is the first 100% traceable wool in the U.S.  They have many practices that ensure the ethical treatment of animals as well as reducing their carbon footprint. The link above provide a wonderful source about this group of farmers.  The wool itself is a cross of Merino and Rambouillet. This yarn has excellent loft and is extremely sparkly to give your project an bit of extra glitz and glam!

All yarns are dyed with professional acid dyes in my smoke free cat friendly home studio. Each hand dyed skein is unique. Even within the same dye lot there can be variances. Though I keep good notes and do my best to keep this at a minimum, I cannot guarantee against it. If you are working on a larger project it is recommended that you alternate between two different skeins to minimize the visual effect of this variance.

Minimal bleeding occasionally occurs with the first wash or two. Please wash separately. I recommend that you hand wash all hand knits to ensure longevity. Wash in water that is room temperature using a detergent specifically for wool such as Eucalan or Soak. Hand made wool wash or woolite is not recommended as some of the chemicals can break dye bonds. Water above 130 degrees Fahrenheit can also alter these bonds.
